Discover Fabric and Paper Marbling

I love to create and apply unique hand-marbled designs on fabric, paper and canvas. Each product receives an unrepeatable marbled pattern. This is not printed fabric, no scarf will ever look exactly like yours. You can learn more about fabric marbling on my YouTube channel, or join me in person for one of my marbling workshops.

The Technique

The marbling art is centuries old and offers many refined styles developed over time in Japan, China, Turkey and all along the Silk Road. It is also referred to as Ebru, Abri and Suminagashi. My approach incorporates the ancient techniques along with skills I was taught by my mentors – Dan and Regina St. John

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you teach online courses?

I don’t teach marbling online because I don’t believe it would provide good value to paying students. But the good news is you can get plenty of free info from the livestream library on my YouTube channel. I also answer relevant questions in chat while live on YouTube or Instagram. For hands-on training check out my Workshops section.

Do you take commissions?

Yes, please contact me directly with special requests. Whether you have an outlandish idea or simply want specific color and pattern for your scarf, I can do it all.

What paints do you use and what’s that in the tank?

My dipping tank is filled with a solution of water and carrageenan. The thick liquid allows for the paint to float on the surface and keeps it from sinking. I use acrylic paints in most cases. I maintain a list of books about marbling I found helpful while learning, check them out!

Do you offer workshops?

Of course! I offer several workshops each year, usually with different focus (fabric, paper, etc.) Please contact me for private events.

Will you do a marbling workshop or demo at our corporate event?

Absolutely! Contact me for details.
